Horizontal Awnings

A practical and beautiful shade solution. These canopies extend horizontally and are supported with a simple framework of tracking. The frame can be constructed from wood, or manufactured in either vinyl or aluminum.

These overhead canopies are available in 46" or 60" wide panels, or can be custom cut to more narrow widths to accomodate your needs. This panel design allows unlimited width coverage and can span projections of up to 21'. An added benefit of the panel, or sectional, design allows for flexible shade applications. Because each canopy operates independantly, parts of your deck or patio can be shaded while another section enjoys full sun.

Since this style of canopy operates horizontally, clearance issues are minimized. Typically the tracking is attached to the fascia, sofit, or wall of a structure. The overhead tracks extend horizontally eliminating slope and pitch. The enite system is designed to be level overhead giving a room-like feel.

Horizontal systems can suffer the same types of damage as lateral arm systems. In case of inclement weather, it is highly recommended that you retract your awning. Although with the horizontal awning, there is one patented difference. Horizontal awnings feature an adjustable wind release mechanism. The canopies are held in the extended and retracted positions by these wind release clips. They are designed to release the canopies in the event of an unexpected gust of wind when properly adjusted.
