RETRACTABLE SCREENS

Retractable screens allows one to drop a screen in place when needed, and provides a wide open space when desired. A great product to eliminate pesky bugs, block the sun or provide privacy.

Product options: Various manufactures offer a variety of styles and options. Typical options are: Motorization, remote control operation, wind sensors, fabric and frame color and type options.

Product Limitations: Unlike retractable solar shades, screens need a structure on all sides in order to provide an insect proof system. Specially engineered tracking system along the outer edges of the screen fabric interlock, allowing the screen to be raised and lowered. Square or rectangular openings work the best. Stone columns or half walls protruding into the opening can make the application difficult.

Most manufactures can handle up to about a 20’ wide opening, and 10’ drop. The type of fabric will determine is there will be a noticeable seam in the fabric.

Due to the size and weight of the screen material, most retractable screens are motorized with either a handheld or wall mounted remote control.
